Full-time, Regular, Exempt Position
The University of Maine System is seeking to hire a Data Governance Coordinator (DGC). This position works closely with all members of the UMS system-wide Data Governance Program, as well as additional personnel within the UMS:IT and institutional research offices across the UMS. The DGC investigates and analyzes data consistency and policy issues that aid UMS functional areas, internal and external reporting, and UMS administrators’ decision support. The DGC documents and crafts recommendations on those data consistency and policy issues. The DGC collaborates with stakeholder offices across the UMS to better understand business processes and university data in order to recommend consistent and strategic coding and data standards.
This position supports Fully Remote / Work From Home employees and is not dependent upon a specific location. Office space on a University System campus location can also be provided, if desired.
Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is high $50s to low $60s, plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Data Governance is an ongoing program within the University of Maine System. A Data Governance Council consists of senior leaders and is advised by a cross-functional Data Advisory Committee with members from each UMS University. Projects are initiated from various levels of the University to improve data consistency and security.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of equivalent relevant experience and education
- Prior experience with quantitative or qualitative data analysis
- Prior experience in a collaborative/consensus-driven decision-making setting
Preferred:
- Prior experience working with University data policies
- Prior experience with data visualization tools and strategies
- Experience in a higher education setting, especially with higher education data
