The Communications & Outreach team is responsible for strategic outreach, marketing, and communications for the Office of the CIO and IT Services.
Responsibilities:
• Develops, manages and executes comprehensive strategic communications, marketing and public relations programs to advance the impact and outreach of the University IT Services.
• Develops, manages, and executes communications plans and programs, including creating written, visual, and electronic communications in support of IT projects and initiatives.
• Develops and executes organizational communication, market branding strategy, public relations plans, news releases and promotional material, including brochures, fact sheets, etc.
• Partners with communications leads in other units, including University Communications and Public Affairs, Health Systems, system-wide marketing directors, as well as national higher education marketing organizations, to align communications needs and activities.
• Manages culture-change initiatives, promotes IT services, provides information, communicates change, shares news, tells the IT story, and builds IT communities.
• Other responsibilities include:
• Managing the online presence for the Office of CIO and IT Services department.
• Assisting with outreach, training, community-building and support programs for technologists across the campus.
• Assisting with organizational and professional development events and programs, and culture-change initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.
• Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues.
• Exceptional ability to write and communicate business content effectively in a variety of mediums (web, press release, newsletter, brochure, presentations, etc.) and in ways appropriate to targeted audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content for a variety of online and print publications. Proven ability and working experience in writing and editing for accuracy and style. Working knowledge and application of proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation according to departmental standards.
• Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills. Required to communicate clearly, succinctly and effectively with a variety of audiences, including clients, vendors, executives, and staff members.
• Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans. Strong skills to ensure production of high quality work in a high volume environment within budget and time constraints. Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to understand the overall goals of an organization and craft strategies and approaches to meet organizational goals via communications.
