Director, Strategic Enrollment Research and Analytics
Enrollment Management at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Director for Strategic Enrollment Research and Analytics. Reporting to the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Planning, the Director for Strategic Enrollment Research & Analytics will provide structure and management for a robust enrollment research agenda and comprehensive enrollment reporting function. This position will provide data analytics that inform strategic and tactical decision making across the division of enrollment planning and collaborate with campus partners to ensure the accuracy of student information and to enhance the validity and usefulness of data produced.
This position is designated as an essential employee and may be required to report to work as scheduled when University offices are closed due to severe weather or other conditions.
Responsibilities
- Manage large data sets used for research and analytics pertaining to financial aid, predict yield analysis, pricing, institutional market position, recruitment and retention, student demographics, and institutional benchmarking.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive research agenda for Enrollment Planning that includes market research, surveying and evaluating retention efforts, disseminating reports, and responding to ad hoc requests from institutional leadership.
- Develop and standardize reporting procedures by leveraging data management, analysis, and visualization techniques.
- Work with external partners to validate, analyze, and share data to inform decision-making.
- Manage information from various external entities such as, the College Board, ACT, National Student Clearinghouse, IPEDS (Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System), and other national data sources to create analyses that serve the university's enrollment management needs.
- Responsible for creating and managing an enrollment planning survey program.
- Work closely with colleagues from Institutional Research and Information Technology Services to promote institutional knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Assist in preparing presentations of data to support strategic and operational planning and decision making.
- Create and maintain dashboard reporting for all aspects of the enrollment funnel and student enrollment transactions.
- Collaborate with units across the institution to identify, analyze and document data needs and improve reporting capabilities.
- In collaboration with other units on campus, conduct and manage activities related to market research, surveying and evaluating retention efforts, disseminating reports, and responding to ad hoc requests from institutional leadership.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, and reporting, with experience manipulating large, complex datasets.
- Advanced practical experience with BI and data analysis software (Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated understanding of data structures and common methods of data extraction and transformation.
- Experience with relational databases and CRM systems required; Slate and Workday preferred.
- Ability to analyze data, recognize patterns, and provide informed recommendations to support decision making. Experience developing and implementing predictive enrollment and pricing models a plus.
- Strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to think critically, work independently and solve problems creatively.
- Excellent data visualization, report preparation, and written communication skills.
- Experience in higher education administration preferred.
- Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly The University of Tampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office.
