SUNY Upstate Medical University is currently seeking an Associate Director of Health Information Management to join the Health Information Management department. The Associate Director of Health Information Management is responsible for monitoring staff levels and workflow throughout the department to assure that record processing is conducted timely and the health information is readily available. Ensures that workflows adhere to privacy regulations. Responsible for the supervision of File Room, Patient Identity, Chart Corrections, Incomplete Records and ultimately Release of Information area. Will oversee the department operations during the absence of the Director. Qualifications: Bachelors in Health Information Management, RHIA certification and 4 years of Health Information Management experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience OR Associates in Health Information Managment, RHIT certification and 6 years of Health Information Management experience to include 2 years of supervisory experience required. Excellent demonstrated leadership skills with EMR experience at a super user level (multiple modules) and Chart Correction experience required. Microsoft Office Suite experience required. Candidate should have experience with document scanning systems and have technical aptitude to work with HIM Epic team for troubleshooting problems or planning for upgrades.
