Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Program Administrative Specialist in the Office of Diversity & Inclusion.
Primary Job Duties: Under limited supervision, this position exists to administer programming and coordinate events and staffing for the Powerful Connections Program. The Powerful Connections program orients students of diverse backgrounds to Salisbury University by making connections to upper level students through peer mentoring, providing an understanding of academic expectations and social responsibility, and providing a familiarity with the Salisbury University campus. The position will support success and growth of the program and recommend and implement changes for program efficiency and improvement. It will work on existing programming outside of Powerful Connections as well as help develop new programming for ODI. In addition, the position will provide administrative support for the Office of Diversity and Inclusion as needed. This position may require some evening and weekend hours as needed for ODI events.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of administrative experience. Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
Ability to take initiative and have attention to detail, ability to do independent research. Extensive skill in various computer software packages including MS Office with the ability to effectively create presentations, surveys, and reports. Must be flexible, professional and able to work independently and as part of a team. Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail, have good organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced office. Ability to prepare and track budgets. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with tact and discretion. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and develop and build relationships with a diverse group of campus colleagues and students. Working knowledge of mentoring programs and diversity, equity and inclusion.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, State position with a full benefits package. Starting hourly rate is $22.99, which is approximately $47,951.00 annually. After successful completion of a 6-month probationary period, there is a 2.5% pay increase for new hires or internal promotions.
