DEPARTMENT: Career Readiness
REPORTS TO: Director, Career Readiness
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position reports to the Director of the Professional Career Readiness Center and will also work closely with the Vice President of Student Affairs as well as the school leadership teams who play a key role in experiential learning programs.
The Program Manager is responsible for the administration, coordination, and evaluation of programs, services, and policies related to experiential learning including but not limited to internships and the cooperative education.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, educational administration, counseling, college student personnel, or related field Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum 2-3 years of experience in career services, workforce development, higher education, human resources or related field
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal
- Strong organizational and administrative skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and to manage multiple projec
- Knowledge of career services, experiential learning, and higher education preferred
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint)
- Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations and adapt quickly and be flexible to changes
- Knowledge of how to develop surveys, analyze statistical data and prepare statistical reports
- Strong commitment to working with a diverse student population
- Experience in use of career and recruitment management software: Handshake preferred
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with recruiting efforts of current and prospective students and employers for experiential learning programs including but not limited to internship and cooperative education
- Serve as a liaison among students, faculty, and employers for experiential learning programs including but not limited to internship and cooperative education
- Oversee the relationship between the employer and student in each experiential learning experience by maintaining contact with both the employer and student, including conducting periodic site visits
- Oversee experiential learning staff as needed and assist with grant writing/maintenance efforts as requested
- In collaboration with university representatives, create and update experiential learning policies, documents and contracts for students and employers to ensure that program practices are compliant with government regulations
- Review and update all program publications including the student information and employer guide, the participant yearbook, program syllabi, and program forms/surveys
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate scope of services offered through experiential learning and implement new initiatives to ensure that experiential learning efforts are meeting the needs of the university
- Assist with university recruitment efforts to promote department services and attract prospective students
- Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, security, and appropriate disposition of student records
- Monitor and record student, faculty, and employer contact information in Handshake
- Pull reports and record program and participation data as requested
- Involvement in the delivery of the BMGT 280 course
- Other duties as assigned
