BASIC FUNCTION: Full time position. The Foundation Coordinator will sustain and enhance an active alumni program; manage and administer the scholarship development, application, and selection processes; and coordinate special events for the College and its Foundation. The Foundation Coordinator will work with the Director of College Advancement to secure financial resources that support the mission of NCC.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED – Associate’s degree and knowledge of current software applications.
PREFERRED – Bachelor’s degree.
Bilingual in English and Spanish Languages.
Copies of all academic transcripts are required. Unofficial copies are acceptable at the time of application. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment, a complete set of original transcripts will be required.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
1. Strong organization and follow-up skills.
2. Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written word. Must possess the ability to speak in public situations.
3. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
4. Fundraising experience.
5. Knowledge of the community college system, especially of Northwest Iowa Community College.
6. Familiarity of the geographic area.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Expand the focus of the Northwest Iowa Community College Foundation with regards to alumni, scholarship, and enhanced fundraising.
2. Lead an active alumni program which would include: managing the alumni association, maintaining and building on the alumni database, continuing to develop a social media platform for enhanced communication, and administer the annual Alumni budget.
3. Oversee, develop and produce bi-annual Connections magazine.
4. Coordinate the annual scholarship application/selection process.
5. Assist in soliciting donations to the Foundation from current and prospective donors.
6. Oversee and grow the annual fundraising campaign.
7. Secure monetary and non-monetary resources for the College through fund/friend raising special events. Collect and analyze appropriate data to ensure effectiveness of special events.
8. Coordinate and collaborate with other internal stakeholders on organizing college wide special events.
9. Promote the mission of Northwest Iowa Community College and its Foundation in a professional manner.
10. Serve on various College committees and cross-functional teams.
11. Work effectively within a team environment.
12. Participate in professional development activities that support the position.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of College Advancement.
WAGE/SALARY RANGE: $35,000-$40,000 annual salary based on experience and education.
