ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN FINANCE BOARD

The New York City Campaign Finance Board oversees New York City’s small donor democracy program and educates and engages voters via NYC Votes. The CFB has enjoyed a tremendous arc of progress over its 30-year history, and our updated flagship small donor democracy program is a centerpiece of this progress.

We eliminate barriers to participation by providing access to the resources New Yorkers need to vote or run for office and amplify the voices of small donors with New York City’s small donor democracy program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The NYC Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent city agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections, seeks a high performing, committed individual to serve as Executive Project Manager, reporting directly to the Special Assistant. Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct and assist in project management and business analysis work, such as the mapping of as-is and to-be business process flows, creation of scope documents, project plans and business requirements as it relates to promulgation of rules and implementation of policies.
  • Manage a portfolio of projects across all departments from pre-development through completion.
  • Conduct analyses of issues related process and policy implementation, identify industry, financial feasibility, technology, and operational impacts.
  • Assist in streamlining processes and information to facilitate goals.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
  • Provide written and oral status reports, coordinate project timelines and prepare presentations.
  • Serve as the Agency’s liaison to developers, vendors, and other government agencies; ensure that parties are in compliance with agency rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Take initiative in independently monitoring portfolios to ensure smooth functioning of the Agency, in coordination with the Special Assistant.
  • Act as liaison with executive and operational staff within the agency and with other agencies.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with the New York City legislative and rulemaking processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project a plus.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience with different stakeholders and broad constituencies.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and within government agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience with leading multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Admission to the New York State Bar; and four years of recent full-time responsible, relevant, satisfactory legal experience subsequent to admission to any bar, eighteen months of which must have been in the supervision of other attorneys, in an administrative, managerial or executive capacity, or performing highly complex and significant legal work.

Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
