The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis has an opportunity for an Assistant Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis at our facility in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The primary duty of the position is to establish goals and priorities for the department and adjust direction as needed to respond to The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis ("Bank") and Federal Reserve System ("System") direction, industry changes, and department and Bank programs. This position provides leadership and oversight for the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) department, as well as the Bank's cost allocation and compliance function. This position has routine interaction and engagement with System finance and Bank executive management to develop and execute strategic plans for Bank departments consistent with Bank goals and System Finance direction.
This position requires a Master's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or related field, plus ten years of finance function leadership experience in a complex business environment. Experience must include seven (7) years of experience, which may be concurrent, with all of the following: 1) managing financial planning and analysis in a complex business environment; 2) developing, coordinating and supporting an organization's annual budget and monthly forecasting processes, ensuring that the processes and deliverables meet organization's management expectations and requirements and that the processes are timely and efficient; 3) applying an understanding of an organization's cost allocation rules and ensuring accuracy in metrics and results; assuring that fully costed results (budget, forecast and actuals) are available in a timely, accurate, and accessible manner; 4) applying activity based costing rules and assuring that a financial organization's compliance function is effective and that associated procedures and policies are current and reflect current policy; and 5) acting as a financial consultant to senior management, and/or Board of Directors, reporting on financial performance, preparing presentations and delivering speeches; providing complex analysis to BOD committees.
Experience must also include five (5) years of experience, with the following: leading and managing FP&A, cost allocation and compliance staff; establishing goals and objectives for the function, ensuring staff development, delivering performance reviews, and ensuring department goals are achieved. Must also have certification in at least one of the following: Project Management or Business Process Improvement. This position requires travel (domestic) less than 10% of the time. All experience may be gained concurrently and may have been gained before, during or after completion of the Master's Degree program.
