Assistant Professor in Social Work
Cleveland State University’s School of Social Work is searching for a full-time tenure track appointment as an Assistant Professor in clinical and related academic areas beginning August 21, 2023. Duties:
The successful candidate will be prepared to teach both web-based and face-to-face clinical courses at the undergraduate and graduate level (a total of five courses per academic year), must maintan an active research agenda, and engage in usual university and community service. The School of Social Work educates students of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds and values a diverse faculty and staff.
Minimum qualifications:
Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from a CSWE accredited university;
Ph.D. in Social Work or related field by July 1st, 2023 (ABDs may apply with a letter from their dissertation chair indicating their projected defense date being before July 1st, 2023. ABD candidates will be hired at the rank of Instructor);
Two years post-MSW practice experience; and
potential to teach clinical, social work practice, and related academic areas at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred qualifications:
Beginning record of publication;
Evidence of successful teaching of clinical courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels;
An affinity for teaching both face-to-face and web-based courses;
Research interests in health disparities and/or diversity; and
The ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.
