Hospitality Aide
Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the nurse in charge, the Hospitality Aide performs the basic duties to provide comfort, safety, and customer service needs of residents.

Reports to: Unit Manager/Nurse Supervisor
Essential Job Specific Duties/Responsibilities
1. Assists residents to attain or maintain their highest physical, mental, and psychosocial function.
a. Reports to Charge Nurse upon arrival to determine plan of care for shift and gives report to Charge Nurse at end of shift.
b. Assists in wheelchair transportation needs of residents.
c. Encourages participation in facility’s activities program.
d. Reports changes in physical or mental functioning to Charge Nurse.
e. Reports verbal/non-verbal complains of pain/”hurt” to Charge Nurse immediately.
2. Assists in providing a clean and safe environment.
a. Changes bed linens as appropriate and discards soiled linens according to facility policy. Bags personal laundry and keeps it separate from facility laundry.
b. Makes unoccupied beds.
c. Straightens rooms and disposes of excess refuse in rooms appropriately.
d. Reports loss/theft/damage as soon as discovered.
e. Responds promptly to all alarms, i.e. exit doors, wanderguards.
f. Respects residents’ rights and protects residents from complications and injuries.
g. Follows infection control and prevention procedures.
3. Satisfies all educational in-service requirements mandated by CHI Living Communities, the department, external accrediting, and regulatory agencies.
a. Attends all mandatory in-service programs.
b. Adheres to facility policies and procedures.
c. Completes yearly online education program by deadline.
d. Attends employee meetings on a regular basis.
e. Attends Nurse Aide Training Course to become state tested by state of employment.
In addition to the essential job specific duties listed above, the Hospitality Aide shall be required to perform all duties (essential and non-essential) in a manner consistent with the mission and values (compassion, excellence, inclusion, integrity, collaboration) of CHI Living Communities and will be evaluated on such basis. Furthermore, every employee must abide by all campus, departmental, and safety policies, rules, and regulations.
