Floodplain & Permit Coordinator/Building Codes - $18.22 hr - Serves as the department’s flood hazard mitigation specialist. Maintains all administrative records for the National Flood Insurance and Community Rating Systems programs, analyzes department flood and quality assurance programs/services, policies and procedures and makes recommendations for revisions/additions. Provides flood zone determination information to insurance companies, banks, realtors and the general public upon request. Calculates impact fees and requests 911 addresses for mobile homes and building permits as needed. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Associate’s degree with course work emphasis in construction, drafting related field or equivalent; OR • High school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of professional level experience in the assigned field of floodplain management or commercial building permits • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license • Must be computer proficient • Must possess certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager through the Association of State Floodplain Managers or achieve certification within eighteen (18) months of employment
Administrative Assistant/Communications & Accountability - $13.45 hr - performs tasks as assigned by the Department Head or the Department Head’s designee, including but not limited to, the following: provides basic and accurate information regarding County departments via phone and in-person as part of a team, operates a high volume multi-line telephone system to answer and route all incoming calls on the County’s main line and the department line; helps with receiving mail shipments; and other administrative duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Two (2) years of collective experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role • High School diploma, GED or equivalent. • Associates degree preferred in a field such as business or general studies. • Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational, communication, multi-tasking, time management, computer and keyboarding skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook. • Ability to type and/or enter data accurately and handle a high volume of telephone calls.
• Ability to communicate orally by telephone or in person with patience, tact, speed and accuracy. • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when encountering tough citizen calls. • Hands-on experience with multi-line telephone, copier, scanner, and printer. • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Crew Leader – Grounds Maintenance/Parks & Recreation - $13.45 hr - Performs specialized and manual work associated with upkeep of parks, athletic fields, grounds and facilities. Provides day-to-day direction on specific tasks and assists supervisors by providing functional management to maintenance crews. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Two years prior experience in landscaping and/or grounds maintenance • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate • Must possess a valid driver's license
LIBRARY CLERKS Circulation Representative (Bluffton) Part Time - $10.51 hr - Performs basic library support functions and routine circulation desk duties. Responsibilities include working at the circulation desk, processing material in and out of area, performing shelving duties and providing customer service to patrons.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent • Two (2) years customer service experience • Library experience preferred • Excellent customer service, organizational and computer skills
• Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
