New Beaufort County Government Employment Opportunities:
Assistant County Administrator/Engineering - $130,000 annually - This newly created position will be responsible for and provide vision, oversight and direction to departments including Public Works, Facilities and Grounds Management, Construction Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Stormwater Engineering and Community Development. The successful candidate will direct activities, programs and functions to ensure that the Engineering Division is operationally, technologically, and administratively capable to meet existing and future organizational goals. The incumbent will provide leadership and guidance to staff, and ensure the division’s output aligns with the County’s overall mission. The successful candidate must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external groups, and participate in a variety of meetings, committees, and workshops. The incumbent will also develop and manage budgets, and ensure both operational and personnel policy compliance. Minimum Requirements: • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Public Administration, or closely related field preferred • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible director level experience, including extensive, successful leadership/supervisory experience working with a diverse group of employees, creating and managing budgets, and successfully working with internal and external stakeholders through meetings, committees, and workshops • Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office products • Valid driver’s license
Alcohol & Drug Counselor - $23.72 - Performs duties in the counseling and treatment of adolescents and/or adults as assigned in either Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program or ADSAP Services. At least one (1) year of addiction counseling experience required. Will be required to work some evening hours. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field • At least two years direct counseling experience with one in addiction • Must acquire and maintain required certification/licensure from the State of South Carolina within 3 years of hire date • Licensed social worker, addiction or professional counselor preferred • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license • Prime for Life certified preferred • DSM 5 knowledge ASAM-PPC3 required • Ability to speak/understand Spanish desired
