Code Enforcement Officer - $16.87 hr - Monitors and enforces compliance with the Community Development Code and ordinances which govern zoning, business license, trash and litter control, and junked vehicles; travels throughout the County to visually inspect sites; receives and investigates complaints of potential violations; conducts site reviews; and documents complaints and findings. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Associate’s degree with coursework emphasis in law enforcement, zoning law or related field. • One year experience working with zoning ordinances and regulations • Must possess and maintain valid driver’s license. • General computer skills • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions
Administrative Clerk - Part Time/ Parks & Recreation - $13.06 hr - Beaufort & Bluffton Offices: Performs general administrative, clerical, and customer service duties; processes and distributes various forms, documents, and correspondence; accepts payments for various activities and memberships, performs data entry and associated computer tasks, and assists customers by responding to routine questions or complaints, researching problems, and initiating problem resolution. Performs additional duties including but not limited to light maintenance and cleaning. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED
• One (1) year clerical experience • 6 months cashiering or money handling experience • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Excellent customer service skills • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license • Requires evening and Saturday work (schedule will be four (4) weekdays from 4:30PM-8:00PM and Saturday 8:00AM-6:00PM). Two (2) days will be worked from the Bluffton office and three will be worked from the Beaufort office.
Hazardous Waste Technician/ Solid Waste & Recycling - $13.85 hr - Collects, handles, stores, bulk sorts, packages, transports and disposes of hazardous materials in conformance with all pertinent federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Thus, must maintain a current working knowledge of applicable laws/regulations pertaining to household hazardous and universal wastes. Maintains regulatory files such as manifests, non-hazardous material bills of lading, reports submitted to regulatory agencies, asbestos disposal records, permits, notifications, logs, or other documents. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Two years experience involving identifying, collecting, packaging and disposing of household hazardous and universal waste materials • The following trainings and certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire:
1. 24-hour Hazardous Waste Operations (HAZWOPER) 2. DOT 3-day Hazardous Materials Training
3. Forklift permit 4. Annual Respirator Program evaluation/certification; • Must be medically qualified to wear a respirator • Excellent communication/presentation skills • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
