Business License Specialist - $14.91 hr - Performs a variety of routine and complex clerical work in the processing of payments for Business Licenses, Accommodations Tax, Hospitality Tax, Admission Fees and other miscellaneous receipts. Verifies payment amounts, sends out balance due letters and assists customers with forms. Interprets and articulates all county ordinances dealing with business licenses, taxes and fees as indicated in the county code. Works closely with business owners, County departments, and other entities to ensure that all appropriate information and fees due the County have been received prior to issuance of business license. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Associate’s Degree with course work in accounting
• Three (3) years experience in accounting/finance related field • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Excellent customer service skills • Ability to interpret and apply the County Business License ordinances
• Basic computer skills, with proficiency in Excel and Word*
Administrative Clerk/Parks & Recreation - $13.06 hr - Performs general administrative, clerical, and customer service duties; processes and distributes various forms, documents, and correspondence; accepts payments for various activities and memberships, performs data entry and associated computer tasks, and assists customers by responding to routine questions or complaints, researching problems, and initiating problem resolution. Performs additional duties including but not limited to light maintenance and cleaning.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED • One (1) year clerical experience
• 6 months cashiering or money handling experience • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license • Requires evening and Saturday work (schedule will be four (4) weekdays from 4:30PM-8:00PM and Saturday 8:00AM-6:00PM). Two (2) days will be worked from the Bluffton office and three will be worked from the Beaufort office.
Litter Control Worker/Solid Waste & Recycling - $12.03 hr - picks up litter and other debris to maintain roads within Beaufort County in support of the Litter Control Program. Operates light motor vehicles and performs duties as a Solid Waste Attendant as needed. Also performs routine, repetitive duties following closely prescribed standard practices. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to operate hand tools and other small equipment to maintain roadsides • Ability to perform general routine duties in the maintenance of equipment, vehicles and tools • Ability to lift and carry loads up to 75 pounds • Ability to load and unload collected waste and debris • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Administrative Clerk/Alcohol & Drug Abuse Department - $13.00 hr DOQ - performs routine clerical duties for the Department of Alcohol & Drug Abuse. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or GED • College level course work or vocational training in office administration and personal computer operations preferred • Fluency in Spanish required • Two (2) years clerical experience preferred • Strong customer services skills required • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license • Basic communication, comprehension and math skills required.
